Affected employees (operators and line workers who use machines serviced under lockout), other employees who work near those machines (cleaning, warehouse, packing), authorized employees as a knowledge base before training on their employer's machines, and any worker who must wear PPE.
It is awareness level and does not teach anyone to lock out a machine. Authorized employees also need the employer's training on its own machines and procedures, with practice (29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A)), and the employer certifies the training ((c)(7)(iv)). The employer does the PPE hazard assessment and certifies it (29 CFR 1910.132(d)), and checks hands-on that each worker can use the PPE before working ((f)(2)). This course is not an OSHA approval or certification, and it is not legal advice.
About 45 minutes, online, at your own pace, on a computer or a phone. You can start right after you pay. At the end there is a 15-question final exam; you need 80% to pass, and you can try again as many times as you need.
A HealthSafetyU certificate of completion with the date, the exam result and the instructor's name. It is valid for one year and has a verification code and a QR code. Your employer can verify it online. Note: the rules require retraining when there are changes or gaps, not every year.
