Frequently asked questions

Every worker who must wear a respirator, before first use and every year: paint and body shops, furniture and cabinet finishing, welding and metal shops, construction with silica dust, demolition and sanding, cleaning and disinfection, pesticide handling, food processing, dusty warehouses and healthcare support staff who wear N95s. Voluntary users get the Appendix D information.

This course is the classroom part of the training. Before workers use a required respirator, the employer must still provide a medical evaluation by its health care professional (PLHCP), a fit test and a hands-on check with the respirator they will wear. We give a checklist for the hands-on check. HealthSafetyU does no medical evaluations or fit tests. This course is not an OSHA approval or certification.
