Workers who may see or find a hazardous materials spill or leak: warehouses and distribution centers, manufacturing, chemical and agricultural chemical distributors, water and wastewater plants, utilities, oil and gas, transport yards, security guards, maintenance, janitorial and facility staff. The training is repeated every year.

The course covers the six awareness level competencies. The employer must still fill in the site page, do the site walk-through with the supervisor and sign the competency statement, every year. A company that evacuates everyone, lets no one help and has an emergency action plan (29 CFR 1910.38) may not need this course. DOT hazmat employee training (49 CFR 172.704) is a different rule. This course is not an OSHA, NFPA or Pro Board approval or certification.
