Frequently asked questions

Workers who may have contact with blood or other body fluids at work: cleaning and janitorial staff, hotel and laundry workers, employees assigned to give first aid, caregivers and home health aides, support staff in medical and dental offices, tattoo and piercing studios, security, lifeguards and waste handling.

No online course alone meets every part of the standard. The employer must still give information about its own workplace (its Exposure Control Plan, where protective equipment is kept, who to call after an exposure) and a chance to ask questions of a person who knows the subject (paragraph (g)(2)(vii)(N)). The employer must also offer the hepatitis B vaccine, provide a medical evaluation after an exposure and keep training records for 3 years. This course is not an OSHA approval or certification.

About 45 minutes, online. Each worker goes at their own pace, on a computer or a phone, and can start right after paying.

Each certificate of completion shows the date, the exam result and the instructor's name, and has a verification code and a QR code. Employers can verify it online. It is valid for one year.
