Frequently asked questions

CAL 205 is for new workers and workers in a new job assignment at California companies. CAL 207 is for supervisors, foremen and forewomen, crew leaders and lead workers; it adds a supervisor module and exam. Both fit warehouses, cleaning, retail and restaurants, farm and packing, factories and staffing agencies.

Training on your own written IIPP and the hazards of each job is given by the employer (8 CCR 3203(a)(7)). This course does not know your workplace or your program. Fill in the employer addendum, give it to each worker, teach your program and the job hazards, keep the training records and let workers see the written IIPP when they ask (8 CCR 3203(a)(8)). Section 3203 sets times to train (new employees, new job assignments, new hazards), not a yearly deadline. This course is not a Cal/OSHA approval or certification, and it is not legal advice.

CAL 205 takes about 35 minutes and CAL 207 about 45 minutes, online, at your own pace, on a computer or a phone. You can start right after you pay. You need 80% to pass each exam, and you can try again as many times as you need.

A HealthSafetyU certificate of completion with the date, the exam result and the instructor's name, for the employer's training records. It is valid for one year and has a verification code and a QR code. Your employer can verify it online.
