Frequently asked questions

Workers, supervisors and managers of California employers. Labor Code section 6401.9 requires training for all employees when the workplace violence prevention plan is first set up and every year after.

No. It covers the training topics of subdivision (e)(2), items (A) through (E). The law also requires each employer to train on its own written plan, give workers a free copy and have a person who knows the plan answer questions. Fill in the employer page included with the course, give it to each worker and name that person. Give extra training when there are new hazards or plan changes. This course is not a Cal/OSHA approval or certification.

About 40 minutes, online. Each worker goes at their own pace, on a computer or a phone, and can start right after paying.

Each certificate of completion shows the date, the exam result and the instructor's name and qualifications, as the training record requires. It has a verification code and a QR code, and employers can verify it online. It is valid for one year, which matches the yearly training.
